Portuguese Bend Riding Club

This young woman stands with her horse Dolly Madison tacking up in the main courtyard.

I had my first riding lessons at this same time in the late 1950s. Riders could roam horse trails all over these hills.

This original 1923 Vandelip Farmstead became the Vanderlip Riding Club offering both boarding and riding lessons.

Designed in the fashionable Spanish style architecture with its terracotta tile roofs, it is now home to the Portuguese Bend Riding Club which offers riding instruction for all ages.
