Neptune Fountain

The Neptune Fountain stands as the centerpiece of Malaga Cove Plaza in Palos Verdes Estates. Presiding majestically from his pedestal, Neptune has ruled over the sea for almost a century with cherubs (puti) and mermaids at his feet.

This handsome fellow has had a rich history since the fountain was dedicated on February 16, 1930. By the 1987 he was in deplorable shape, vandalized and neglected. A team of dedicated community volunteers began a restoration process that took over a decade. He stands proudly once again surrounded trees and a brick center walkway.

The Neptune Fountain is a smaller scale replica of the bronze Bologna's La Fontana del Nettuno in Italy.
